ISLAMABAD: In order to improve bilateral trade relations and allay worries about recently imposed US tariffs on Pakistani imports, Pakistan has chosen to send a high-level team to the US for talks.
During a review meeting on Wednesday in Islamabad, which focused on boosting domestic exports and talking about Washington’s new tariff measures, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the order to make the decision.
Prominent exporters and business leaders will be part of the group, demonstrating the government’s intention to involve important stakeholders in determining a mutually advantageous course for the future.
The delegation has been entrusted by the prime minister to negotiate the recently imposed tariffs and create a long-term plan to protect and advance Pakistan’s commercial interests.
