SKARDU: Pakistani singer Quratulain Balouch was injured in a bear attack at Deosai near Bara Pani, Gilgit-Baltistan. She received emergency treatment in Skardu.
Renowned Pakistani singer Quratulain Balouch (QB), sustained injuries after being attacked by a brown bear in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to a statement, QB and her companions were camping near the Bara Pani area when a brown bear suddenly attacked.
“Reports indicate the bear mauled her, causing severe injuries to just her arms,” the statement said.
The singer was rescued by her photographer and local residents present at the site. She was given first aid on the spot before being rushed to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Skardu for emergency medical treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that after thorough examination, QB was discharged and her condition is now stable.
The incident has raised concerns over safety measures for tourists and travelers visiting Deosai National Park, a popular destination in Gilgit-Baltistan known for its unique wildlife and high-altitude plains.
