LAHORE: According to reports, armed security guards from a private security firm shot a motorist at the Dharampura Underpass, beat him, and then ran away, leaving a car and a few guns behind.
A video recording of the event, which showed the armed security guards flagrantly breaking the law and brandishing their weapons while escorting a luxury vehicle, went popular on social media.
According to the video, when the security officers got into a heated altercation with a motorist on the road, traffic at the underpass slowed down.
After exiting the double-cabin cars, around a dozen gunmen brandishing advanced weaponry hurried over to the automobile rider and argued with him. The automobile rider was targeted by one of the armed men, who then fired shots. His car was struck by a bullet that punctured its body.
The other drivers at this point supported the young driver and denounced the perpetrators’ heinous act of violence. Through his social media post, the young man—later identified as Muhammad Imran—took a bold step, exited his vehicle, and overwhelmed the guard who had fired a shot.
According to the video, the other armed men defended their partner, publicly beat the young driver, saved the guard, and then left the area.
However, because of the traffic, they chose to leave one of their cars and a few guns on the road when they saw the Dolphin Police arrive, which made things difficult for them.
According to a Lahore police spokeswoman, the Dolphin police arrived at the scene after receiving a tip and took the guns of the escaping security guards as well as the abandoned car. The suspects, however, were untraceable.
He stated that after learning about the occurrence, Lahore Operations DIG Faisal Kamran ordered that the security guards and the unnamed guy they were escorting be charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act. He claimed that with the use of the Safe City cameras, a police squad had been assembled to track down and apprehend the attackers.
The victim of the incident, meanwhile, appeared on social media and identified himself as Muhammad Imran, a trader by trade. He claimed that when the armed guard overcame him and attempted to shoot a second time, he took action.
