LAHORE: On Thursday, the Punjab cabinet authorized the shipment of medications and other supplies to the residents of Parachinar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision to send a mobile medical unit to Parachinar was also made at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The CM declared, “The people of Parachinar are our own because we cannot abandon them in times of need.”
The completion of Pakistan’s first green building project was also approved by the provincial cabinet. The CM gave the relevant authorities instructions to implement a wheat release policy that is favorable to farmers for the upcoming year.

2024–2025 was authorized by the government. Crushing season 2024-2025 saw the maintenance of sugarcane (development) cess rates.
It was informed that the Kisan Card has been used to buy agricultural inputs totaling Rs 30 billion. Additionally, it was informed that Punjab has met its goal of growing 100% wheat.
It was reported to the meeting that 1,000 of the 4,500 tractors that had been purchased under the Green Tractor Scheme had been delivered.
It was briefed that DAP fertilizer tariffs in Punjab had neither gone up nor down for the first time.
In addition to approving the terms and conditions for leasing government land, the cabinet also approved cash for free medications in hospitals and the development of shrimp farming and aquaculture in Punjab.
The chief minister gave the appropriate authorities strict instructions to promote and export shrimp cultivation throughout Punjab.
The Punjab Vagrancy Ordinance 1958 was amended by the government, increasing the penalty for youngsters who beg from one to ten years.
Additionally, it authorized funding for the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program’s” third phase.
The CM approved the plan to install the newest automated umbrellas in Data Darbar’s courtyard and instructed that funding for the program not be stopped.
The cabinet authorized the easing of restrictions on hiring for positions in the Directorate of Monitoring of the Home Department as well as the hiring of candidates for open positions in the Special Monitoring Unit of I&C.
Additionally, it approved easing the requirements for hiring Rescue 1122 emergency personnel. The CM also gave instructions to broaden the rescue emergency services’ purview.
In addition to approving the development of Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh in Multan for the purpose of promoting tourism and safeguarding cultural heritage, the cabinet approved the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority.
In order to execute the axle load management regime in Punjab effectively, it also authorized revisions to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965.
Together with passing the School Management Council Policy 2024, the appropriate authorities were instructed to take action to furnish government schools.
The cabinet agreed to extend the funding authority to Rs 2.5 million for hundreds of Punjabi restroom blocks built by the School Management Council.
It was informed that 1,100 additional rooms were being constructed throughout Punjab under the auspices of the School Management Council.
In order to incorporate nourishment into the list of fundamental human rights, the government also passed Constitutional Amendment Bill 2024.
In accordance with the Punjab Environment Protection Act, it also authorized the creation of the Advisory Committee for Laboratory Certification.
The cabinet also approved the reconstitution of the Punjab Wildlife Management Board and the Protected Areas Management Board. The Council of Rights of Persons with Disabilities was also approved.
“China’s development is an example to be emulated; we too can achieve all that by working hard,” the CM remarked when discussing her trip to China with the cabinet.
“It is worthwhile to emulate the Chinese people’s attitude of acknowledging authority. She expressed her intention for Punjab to follow China’s lead and added, “There is an indescribable degree of harmony in the thoughts of Chinese people.” According to her, representatives of 60 well-known and sizable Chinese businesses indicated that they would be open to investing in Punjab.
