After conducting 73 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) throughout the state, Punjab’s CTD detained 10 terrorists last month.
In a statement released today, the spokesperson for CTD Punjab said that the law enforcement agency had carried out 189 intelligence-based operations in various districts of the province, questioning 189 suspects and apprehending 10 terrorists along with weapons, explosives, and other illegal items.
During intelligence-based operations in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Bahawalpur, several terrorists were taken into custody.
The statement stated that Fitna Khawarij, Al-Zainabiyoun, and other organizations are associated with the terrorists who were captured, including Badal Singh, Suraj Singh, Siraj, Hidayatullah, Deedar Hussain, Sadaqat Hussain, and others.
Along with a significant amount of explosives, terrorists Suraj Singh and Badal Singh were taken into custody from Rawalpindi. Nankana Sahib is the owner of both terrorists,” the statement continued.
It further stated that around 2,645 grams of explosives, 16 detonators, 37 feet of safety fuse wire, and 75 leaflets of organizations that were prohibited, magazines, cell phones, and cash were found in the terrorists’ possession.

Following the TTP’s termination of its ceasefire with the government in November 2022, there has been a surge in terrorist activity in Pakistan for the previous year, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
According to research released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a think tank based in Islamabad, there was a slight increase in terrorist assaults in February but a significant increase in civilian casualties.
PICSS reports that 79 terrorist incidents occurred in the nation last month, killing 55 civilians and 47 security officers and injuring 45 civilians and 81 security personnel. Meanwhile, security personnel stepped up their counterterrorism efforts, killing 156 terrorists, wounding 20, and detaining 66, according to the statement.
