ISLAMABAD: The opposition party stated that it is eager to work with the government for the benefit of the nation and its progress; hence, the PTI has decided to postpone its planned civil disobedience campaign till Sunday.
Chaudhry Faisal Hussain, a lawyer for the PTI, stated on Wednesday that Imran Khan had instructed the party leadership to hold off until Sunday and to launch a campaign of civil disobedience if the government did not agree to their demands.
Mr. Hussain asserts that the government should either agree to the PTI’s requests or persuade the opposition that the claims are untrue and that negotiations cannot be made to resolve them. He claimed that because the PTI workers had been imprisoned for a year and a half due to the incident on May 9, Imran Khan believed their requests were sincere.
As a step to boost trust, the PTI has put up two demands: the release of prisoners and the creation of a judicial commission to look into the May 9 riots and the November D-Chowk crackdown.
The party is steadfast in its desire for a judicialprobe
and is “willing to talk” with the government to help the nation avoid catastrophes.
PTI founder Imran Khan had warned a day earlier that if the government did not comply with his demands, which included the release of party workers who were imprisoned and the establishment of judicial commissions to look into the May 9 riots and the crackdown on PTI workers in Islamabad on November 26, he would ask Pakistanis living abroad to stop sending money.
Party in parliament
The PTI asserted in a statement following its parliamentary party meeting that dialogue was necessary for the advancement of the nation and that Pakistan’s problems could not be resolved without it.
The PTI expressed interest in the negotiations, saying they were necessary for the country’s growth and stability. According to the party’s founder, Imran Khan wanted the nation to advance, but the government had put up many barriers and challenges in the way. According to the statement, “Imran Khan established the negotiation committee with a constructive outlook and methodology.”
Party members honored individuals who allegedly passed away on November 26 during the meeting, and they asserted that the party leadership was supporting martyrs and their families. They called for the release of Imran Khan and all other PTI officials and employees.
In addition, the PTI leaders called for the creation of a judicial committee to look into the violence that occurred on May 9 and November 26. They also denounced the raids on Punjabi national and provincial assembly members’ homes.
