According to state-run Radio Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment on Thursday to bolstering defense and security cooperation and acknowledging the value of teamwork in tackling regional security issues.
Strategic military cooperation, shared Islamic history, and economic interests have all played a significant role in the long-standing and complex relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
These relationships have traditionally included military cooperation, energy supply, and economic support; Saudi Arabia is a major supplier of both oil and financial support to Pakistan.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began his four-day official visit to Jeddah, where he would discuss ways to improve collaboration across the economy with the Saudi leadership.
PM Shehbaz and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) met bilaterally in Jeddah today to talk about the two nations’ collaboration and bilateral ties.

The premier is accompanied by a high-level group that comprises top officials, federal ministers, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The conference, which focused on strengthening cooperation in the areas of economics, commerce, investment, energy, and defense, underlined the close and long-standing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The presidents conveyed their contentment with the expanding economic cooperation between the two countries during the meeting.
The prime minister praised the Kingdom’s resolve to boost investments in strategic areas, which will support Pakistan’s stability and economic expansion.
In-depth talks on the “changing regional situation as well as geopolitical landscape” were also held, and the two leaders decided to collaborate closely at all levels to advance their common goal of regional peace, stability, and development.
The crown prince of Saudi Arabia pledged to strengthen policies to support the welfare of the Pakistani community in the nation and recognized their contributions.
The necessity of further “strengthening people-to-people ties, cultural exchanges, and educational collaboration” was emphasized by both leaders.
Along with the crown prince, the prime minister reiterated their dedication to taking the alliance between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to “new heights, guided by mutual respect, shared interests, and a common vision for progress and prosperity.”
