Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced plans for full Israeli control over the Gaza Strip while authorizing limited humanitarian aid delivery under increasing pressure from the United States. Simultaneously, the Israeli military has ordered the forced evacuation of all civilians from Khan Younis, Gaza’s second-largest city.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, citing Israeli public broadcaster ‘Kan’, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, “We are going to take control of all areas in the Gaza Strip.”
Addressing unconfirmed reports of a “special operation” launched in Khan Younis on Monday morning, Netanyahu said Israeli forces were “doing a very good job there,” but declined to provide further details.
Israeli Army Orders Forced Evacuation from Khan Younis
The Israeli military has issued a forced evacuation order for residents of Khan Younis, warning of an imminent and “unprecedented attack.”
Israeli military Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared the order via social media platform X, stating that it also applies to nearby areas including Bani Suheila and Abasan.
Civilians have been instructed to move west toward the Al-Mawasi area, which is being designated as a humanitarian zone. The post further warned that Khan Younis is now considered a “dangerous war zone.”
This evacuation order follows similar directives issued just a day earlier for parts of central Gaza, including the Al-Qara area in southern Deir al-Balah, where Israeli forces have recently expanded their military operations.
Humanitarian Aid Permitted Amid U.S. Pressure
In response to mounting pressure from the United States, Prime Minister Netanyahu has authorized the resumption of basic humanitarian aid into Gaza — a decision that has stirred controversy within Israel’s far-right cabinet.
The Times of Israel reported that this move came after a security cabinet meeting where military officials warned that aid organizations and the United Nations had completely depleted their food supplies, creating a severe humanitarian crisis.
Although the decision did not go to a formal vote, some ministers strongly opposed the move, arguing it contradicts previous government assurances that no aid would resume until a mechanism was in place to prevent Hamas from accessing the supplies.
Nevertheless, the aid will be delivered using previously established distribution methods.
Israeli Army Confirms 160 Strikes in 24 Hours
The Israeli military has confirmed conducting over 160 airstrikes across Gaza in the past 24 hours as part of its latest military campaign.
According to an official update, the strikes targeted what the military described as infrastructure used by Palestinian fighters, including anti-tank rocket launch positions and weapons storage facilities.
The escalation highlights a renewed phase in Israel’s ongoing military operations within the enclave, with widespread devastation reported and fears of further humanitarian deterioration mounting.
