It was revealed on Sunday that a madrassah instructor in Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district had been taken into custody for allegedly raping an 11-year-old student at a seminary.
According to data from the non-governmental organization (NGO) Sahil’s Six Months Cruel Numbers, 1,630 child abuse instances were registered nationwide last year.
862 child sexual assault instances, 668 kidnapping cases, 82 missing child cases, and 18 child marriage cases were reported in the first half of 2024. Additionally, 48 instances of pornography following sexual abuse were noted.
According to a police official, “a case has been registered against a madrassa teacher at the Mirhazar police station.”
The representative went on to say that the police arrested the suspect right away.
Section 376(iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with rape of a minor, was used to file the first information report (FIR).
According to the FIR, the student was raped twice by the teacher after being brought to his residential room in the madrassa.
The police spokeswoman went on to say, “A case was registered on the child’s mother’s statement.”
According to authorities, a 17-year-old girl in Punjab’s Muzaffargarh allegedly was raped and became pregnant before killing herself last month.
According to an official release, police also detained five individuals last month for allegedly participating in the gang rape of a kid in Muzaffargarh.
