After a similar action in Sindh, the Punjab School Education Department has implemented a new clothing code for teachers.
According to a department notification, male teachers in government schools are not allowed to wear jeans and T-shirts.
Additionally, female teachers and students are told not to wear expensive jewelry, high heels, or a lot of makeup to school. Female teachers are also required to wear shalwar kameez with hijabs or dupattas.
The goal of the new dress code is to make sure that educators continue to wear clothing that reflects their cultural and professional beliefs.
The agency has made it clear that teachers who disregard the rules will face severe consequences. Additionally, private schools have been ordered to enforce the dress code for their employees.
The ruling is a component of continuous initiatives to maintain order and cultural sensitivity in educational settings.
