Tehran: In a powerful retaliatory move, Iran launched more than 100 missiles at Israel late last night, targeting several strategic cities including Haifa and Tamra, resulting in at least 10 Israeli deaths and over 200 injured, according to reports by Times of Israel and Reuters.
Loud explosions were heard across Haifa, especially after hypersonic and ballistic missile strikes rocked the city. Air raid sirens were triggered in multiple Israeli cities, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) urged citizens to stay inside bomb shelters.
According to Israel’s Channel 13, Iranian missiles hit northern coastal areas, including Haifa and its neighboring town Tamra. A ballistic missile struck a two story building in Tamra, killing 4 people and injuring 13.
In Bat Yam, another missile strike reportedly killed 10 Israelis, while 3 individuals remain missing, as search efforts continue. Over 200 injuries have been confirmed so far in Israeli media, including night-long attacks across various locations.
Al Jazeera, verifying viral videos circulating online, confirmed sightings of Iranian cruise missiles streaking across northern Israeli skies.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced via Telegram that its Aerospace Force carried out a massive drone and missile assault on Israel, dubbed “Operation True Promise III” (Wa’d al-Sadiq III), in direct retaliation for Israeli strikes that killed top Iranian commanders and scientists a day earlier.
IRGC spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ali Mohammad Naeini, in a live broadcast, said:
“We have targeted Israel’s air force fueling stations and energy facilities using a wide array of drones and missiles. If aggression continues, Iran’s armed forces will intensify their offensive.”
He also claimed that Iranian air defense successfully intercepted:
- 3 Israeli cruise missiles
- 10 drones
- Dozens of mini-UAVs
Additionally, missile strikes were confirmed on Israel’s nuclear research center in Tel Aviv and the IDF headquarters.
A large fire reportedly broke out at Haifa’s oil refinery following the attacks, causing further panic and chaos across the region.
The tit-for-tat escalation between Iran and Israel appears to be spiraling into a broader regional conflict, with both sides vowing further action.
