Constitution Day LIVE: November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day in India since it was on this day in 1949 that the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution, which started a new chapter in Indian history on January 26, 1950.
Under the slogan “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan,” a historic year-long celebration to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution got underway in the nation on Tuesday. Since 1949, November 26 has been marked as Constitution Day in India, A new chapter in Indian history began on January 26, 1950, when the Constitution was ratified by the Constituent Assembly of India. According to a PIB announcement, the government’s “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan” campaign seeks to honor the accomplishments of the Constitution’s framers while “reiterating the core values enshrined in it.”

In honor of the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu spoke to a joint session of both Houses of Parliament, kicking off a year-long celebration of the Constitution’s 75th anniversary.

On December 9, 1946, the Constituent Assembly convened for the first time in New Delhi in the Central Hall of the former Parliament House. The chamber that day was attractively prepared for the event and had a fresh appearance, with “a constellation of bright lamps hanging from the high ceilings” and from the brackets on its walls, according to the Lok Sabha website
The Central Hall of Parliament will host the event. Prime Minister Modi will speak to the audience and provide the Indian Judiciary’s annual report for 2023–2024 during the event
Along with booklets titled “Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse” and “Making of the Constitution of India & its Glorious Journey,” a commemorative coin and stamp honoring the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution will be released during the event.
