A serious road accident was reported in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area of Karachi after a speeding car crashed into a footpath on Khayaban-e-Ittehad, causing chaos in the busy neighborhood.
According to initial reports, the vehicle lost control due to high speed and struck the pavement before overturning. The car then landed on a motorcycle parked by the roadside, running over a food delivery rider identified as Farhan.
The injured rider sustained severe injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.
Eyewitnesses said the two occupants of the car fled the scene immediately after the crash. Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects.
The incident’s surveillance video has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage over reckless driving and renewed calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws in the city.
Police officials stated that further legal action will be taken once the suspects are identified.
