More than a year has passed since the US first gave Ukraine ATACM missiles, which were only to be used inside Ukrainian borders.

The US-provided long-range missiles, which have a range of up to 300 kilometers (186 miles), have been used by Ukraine in Crimea and in the eastern cities of Berdyansk and Luhansk.
Only a few nations acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory, which Moscow unlawfully annexed in 2014.
Therefore, it was exempt from US demands that Ukraine stop attacking Russian territory with weapons provided by Washington.
The Stormshadow missiles, which are also donated by France and Britain, are restricted to use only inside Ukrainian borders.
It is now anticipated that this restriction will be removed as well.

President Biden is believed to have responded directly to North Korean troops fighting alongside Russian forces by allowing Ukraine to use US missiles to strike Russian territory.
Ukrainian officials reported earlier this month that their troops had engaged North Korean forces in combat in the Russian region of Kursk.
North Korea and Russia agreed to defend one another in the event of an attack when they signed a mutual defense treaty in June.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told Russian President Vladimir Putin directly Friday in a rare phone conversation that North Korea’s involvement was a “grave escalation” of the conflict.
