In exchange for a “serious prisoner swap,” a senior Hamas official stated that the Palestinian organization is willing to free all Israeli detainees and promises that Israel will halt its offensive in Gaza.
Taher al-Nunu, a senior Hamas official, told AFP, “We are prepared to release all Israeli captives in exchange for a serious prisoner swap deal, an end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and the entry of humanitarian aid.”
But he charged that Israel was impeding efforts to reach a truce.
Nunu stated that the occupation is breaking its promises, preventing the ceasefire agreement from being implemented, and extending the war, not the quantity of prisoners.
He continued by saying, “Hamas has thus emphasized the necessity of guarantees to compel the occupation (Israel) to uphold the agreement.”
According to the Israeli news outlet Ynet, Hamas has been presented with a fresh proposition.
In exchange for US assurances that Israel would engage in talks for a second phase of the truce, the organization would free ten live prisoners.
Israeli military attacks 35 targets in Gaza in the past day
Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli military said its aircraft targeted “sites for launching rockets and producing weapons” in the southern Gaza region of Rafah.
According to a statement, it has demolished a Hamas tunnel in the last 24 hours and is still collaborating with the internal security organization Shin Bet in Rafah.
Without offering any proof, the IDF also claimed that an Israeli airstrike had targeted “a terrorist ambush” in northern Gaza. It asserted once more that a “weapons production site” was the target of airstrikes on central Gaza.
