Following the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Shawwal, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Sunday that Pakistan would celebrate the first day of Eidul Fitr tomorrow.

According to a Dawn.com correspondent, the Ministry of Religious Affairs held a meeting on the top of the Kohsar Block, which was chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
When Azad announced the sighting of the moon, he said that the zonal committees convened in Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, and Karachi to do so.
Azad said the committee received reports of the Shawwal moon being sighted from a number of sites, including Lahore, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and others. He noted that while the skies were clear in much of Pakistan, they were foggy in a few towns.
According to Azad, “therefore, it was unanimously decided that Shawaal 1st, 1446 would be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025, God willing.”
Religious scholars, meteorologists, and other interested parties attended the committee meeting to confirm accounts of moon sightings from all throughout the nation.
According to a projection made last month by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), Eidul Fitr would be celebrated on the 31st of the month, and the holy month of Ramadan would start on the 2nd.
