Islamabad, May 22, 2025: In a strongly worded interview with Al Jazeera, Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that the Pakistani armed forces have delivered a response to India that will not be forgotten for generations. He claimed that the recent military engagement showcased Pakistan’s superior strategy and operational excellence, which will be studied for decades.
“India Learned an Unforgettable Lesson”
General Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that Pakistan successfully thwarted India’s military objectives in the latest round of hostilities, asserting that India’s aggression was met with a resolute and calculated response.
“Our military actions were decisive. We downed six Indian aircraft and demonstrated our dominance on the ground, in the air, and at sea. The world saw Indian forces waving white flags at multiple points along the Line of Control and other borders,” he said.
Victory Reflected in the Nation’s Spirit
When asked who emerged victorious in the recent skirmishes, General Chaudhry responded: “Victory belongs to God, but if you walk the streets of Pakistan, you’ll see the answer in the joy of our people. Their celebrations are a testament to our success.”
He emphasized that Pakistan’s response was transparent and rooted in truth, unlike India’s alleged misinformation campaigns. “We never attacked first. We responded in daylight, publicly announced our targets, and hit all 26 objectives precisely.”
Accusations Against India
The ISPR chief accused India of creating false narratives, particularly after the Pahalgam incident, and challenged India to present any concrete evidence of Pakistani involvement. “Their claims have been baseless. Even their envoy showed fake pictures, including one of a man praying, falsely labeling him a terrorist.”
He further criticized India’s misinformation regarding alleged radiation leaks, airstrikes on Karachi port, and fictitious claims of Pakistani leadership being relocated. “These are desperate fabrications. No serious international body takes them seriously,” he added.
Media Manipulation and Credibility Gap
General Chaudhry accused India of weaponizing its media and entertainment industry to shape false narratives. “They claimed Pakistan attacked the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It’s absurd. We deeply respect all religions and sacred places, including Sikh shrines.”
He noted that while India shut down websites and jailed dissenting voices, Pakistan upheld press freedom during the crisis. “Not a single journalist was arrested in Pakistan during this time. That’s the difference between truth and fiction.”
Strength Through Unity
The spokesperson praised the coordination between Pakistan’s armed forces and its political leadership during the confrontation. “We saw perfect synchronization between the Army, Navy, Air Force, government, and the people. We built a steel wall of resistance against Indian aggression.”
He affirmed that the recent air engagement will be studied in military academies for years. “The events of May 6-7 have set a new benchmark in modern warfare tactics.”
On Kashmir and Water Rights
Addressing India’s threats to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, General Chaudhry warned: “Only a fool would think they can stop water for 240 million people. If India withdraws from the treaty, and Kashmir rightfully joins Pakistan, all six rivers will belong to Pakistan.”
He reminded that Kashmir remains a disputed territory under UN resolutions. “If the future holds a change in status, India will bear the consequences of losing access to these rivers.”
Situation in Gaza and the Muslim World
On the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the ISPR chief said: “What is happening in Gaza is genocide. It is a stain on the conscience of humanity. It teaches us the importance of self-reliance and the need to stand firm against tyranny.”
He called on Muslim nations to strengthen their capabilities. “There are forces in the world willing to carry out genocide. We must resist this moral decay, as seen in both Gaza and the treatment of minorities in India.”
Extremism and Internal Challenges
General Chaudhry accused India of ignoring deep-rooted internal problems, particularly the marginalization of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and other minority groups. “This oppression breeds natural resistance, which India falsely labels as terrorism. Peace can only be achieved when these injustices are addressed and when the Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with international law and the will of its people.”
Final Message
Concluding his interview, the ISPR chief said: “The world saw the truth. Pakistan stood firm, responded with honor, and preserved peace with dignity. Our air force, armed forces, and the Pakistani people have shown what unity and resolve can achieve.”
