Israel Reaffirms Block on Gaza Aid, Calls It Key Pressure Tool Against Hamas
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has made it clear that no humanitarian aid will be allowed to enter Gaza under the current circumstances, reaffirming a hardline stance aimed at increasing pressure on Hamas.
In a statement posted on X, Katz said, “Israel’s policy is clear — no humanitarian aid is going to enter Gaza.” He emphasized that blocking aid deliveries is a deliberate strategy to limit Hamas’s ability to exploit humanitarian channels.
“Preventing humanitarian aid from entering the Strip is one of the main pressure tools that prevents Hamas from using this measure against the population,” Katz stated.
He further added, “In the current reality, no one is willing to enter any humanitarian aid into Gaza, and no one is preparing to enter any aid of this type.”
The announcement comes amid ongoing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as the territory faces growing shortages of food, medical supplies, and essential services. Despite international calls for relief access, Israel maintains that such aid could be diverted by Hamas for military purposes.
