KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released its holiday forecast, predicting that it would be hot and dry with Eid ul Fitr just a few days away.
According to the Met Office, on days of Eid, the temperature is forecast to stay between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, with hot, dry breezes coming from the northwest in the morning.
After April 4, the temperature is predicted to increase and probably reach 39°C.
Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Afzal has predicted a notable rise in the nation’s temperature in the upcoming months, which should be taken into consideration while interpreting Karachi’s weather forecast.
The expert claims that the urban heat island effect will cause heatwave conditions in urban areas, hastening drought conditions.
Afzal issued a warning that the majority of the nation would see hot, dry weather, with temperatures probably staying between 2°C and 3°C above average.
He stated that daytime temperatures in Karachi were predicted to increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over average, which would make residents even more uncomfortable.
