On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Riyadh to attend the Arab-Islamic Summit.
He is scheduled to speak at the summit and participate in talks on important regional concerns, according to the prime minister’s office.
On the sidelines of the event, the prime minister is also anticipated to meet with other world leaders. The Saudi government organised the meeting, which will centre on important Middle Eastern concerns, such as the state of affairs in Gaza.
This is an unprecedented meeting of heads of state and government from Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member nations.
A video showing the prime minister boarding a military aircraft was uploaded to the X account by state-run broadcaster PTV News.
The PM will be accompanied at the summit by Tariq Fatemi, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, and Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, also left Madina for the summit, according to a statement from the deputy prime minister’s office. According to a Foreign Office statement, he attended the preparatory meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Riyadh.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar was addressing at the Council of Foreign Ministers’ Second Arab-Islamic Summit Preparatory meeting. He demanded responsibility from Israel and denounced its “war crimes and crimes against humanity against the people of Palestine.”
“Millions of Palestinians have been displaced, over 100,000 have been injured, and the number of innocent Palestinian deaths has surpassed 44,000,” Dar stated.
Until a viable, contiguous, and sovereign Palestinian state is established based on the pre-June 1967 boundaries, with Jerusalem as its capital, Pakistan would continue to support Palestinian rights, the deputy prime minister stated.
He praised the Arab League and the OIC for their “unwavering dedication” to the cause of Palestine.
